Use backup code

In the case you lose your phone, change your phone number or otherwise can't get codes by SMS or through an authentication app, you will be able to use your saved backup code to access Clarity.

  1. Find your backup codes

  2. Login to your Clarity account

  3. On the Two-step verification page, click Use another method

  4. Select Use a backup code on the next screen

  5. Enter one of your backup codes to access Clarity

Remember that each code can only be used once, so make sure to note which code has already been used.

With two-step verification, you can add an extra layer of security to your Clarity account.

Enable two-step verification

  1. Login to your Clarity account

  2. Click on your profile at the bottom left corner of your page followed by Manage account to open up your Account page

  3. Scroll down to the Security section of the page to find Two-step verification

  4. Click Add two-step verification

  5. Select either SMS code (text) or Authenticator application (phone app) and follow the prompts to complete setup

Upon completion of your two-step verification setup, you will be given your backup codes. Be sure to save these for use later if you have trouble with your normal two-step verification.

Generate/regenerate backup codes

Backup codes are one-time use codes you're able to generate and use in the event you are having trouble with your normal two-step verification. Create backup codes to use in case you lose your phone, change your phone number or otherwise can't get codes by SMS or through an authentication app.

  1. Login to your Clarity account

  2. Click on your profile at the bottom left corner of your page followed by Manage account to open up your Account page

  3. Scroll down to the Security section of the page to find Two-step verification

  4. Click Backup codes to expand

  5. Click Regenerate codes to create a new set of 10 backup codes to use. Make sure to store them securely and keep them secret.

If you don't see the option to generate backup codes, be sure to add a verification method first.
