When you submit your financial aid application, we automatically review it against income and asset criteria to see if your household qualifies for an application fee waiver. You don't need to do anything extra to be considered.
Who is eligible: Automatic fee waivers are only available to families based in the U.S. International families are not eligible for the automatic waiver, no matter their income or assets.
If you qualify: You'll be able to submit your application without being asked to pay the application fee. No further steps needed.
If you don't qualify, or you're an international family: You can still ask your school directly for a fee waiver. This is up to the school, and not every school offers one, so it's worth checking with them.
Good to know: This check happens automatically. Our support team can't see why a specific application did or didn't qualify, and we can't change the result or grant a waiver ourselves. If a waiver wasn't applied to your application, your school is the best next step.
