1. What payment methods are accepted?
We accept credit/debit cards and bank transfers (ACH). We don't currently support paper checks, international bank transfers, or 529 plan payments directly. For these, contact your school, as they may be able to assist directly.
2. What payment plans are available, and are there any fees?
We offer flexible payment plans. A 2-payment plan incurs a $25 fee, while plans with 3 or more payments carry a $50 fee.
3. Are there any fees for using a credit card?
Yes. A 2.97% fee applies to payments made with standard credit cards.
4. Can I set up autopay?
Yes. Either guardian can enroll in autopay for tuition and/or incidental payments separately, once the contract is signed and the deposit paid. Funds are withdrawn 4 days before the invoice due date, and you'll get an email notification beforehand.
Note: once one guardian sets up autopay for a category, the other guardian can't set it up again for that same category, though both can see that it's active.
5. What happens if my payment fails due to insufficient funds?
If an ACH (bank transfer) payment is returned due to insufficient funds or incorrect account info, a $25 fee will be charged.
6. Why did my payment fail?
There are a few common reasons this can happen, including a name mismatch between your Clarity account and your bank account, incorrect account or routing numbers, or insufficient funds. If you're not sure why your payment failed, please reach out to Support, and we can help you look into it.
7. Can I cancel a payment after I submit it?
Yes, as long as it's within the cancellation window. Card payments can be canceled up until 11:00 PM ET, and ACH payments up until 9:00 PM ET, on the day the payment is submitted. Go to Payments, then History, find the payment with status Processing, and click Cancel. Once the window has passed, payments can't be canceled in the system. Contact Family Support for help.
8. Can I add another person to help make payments?
Yes. A secondary payer can be added. See Adding a Payer or Sharing Billing Access on Your Account for how to invite a payer or add a co-payer.
9. Can both guardians manage billing on the account?
Yes. Any co-payer added to the account has full access. They can view invoices, set up autopay, and receive billing notifications. A guardian can also invite someone, like a grandparent, as a payment-only contributor without giving them full account access. See Adding a Payer or Sharing Billing Access on Your Account.
10. What is a late fee and when does it apply?
Late fees are set by your school, not by Clarity. If your school charges one, it will appear as a separate line item on your invoice. Contact your school directly for their specific late fee policy and amount.
11. Can I get a refund?
Refund eligibility is determined by your school's policies. Deposits are generally non-refundable once a contract is signed. Clarity processes payments on behalf of schools but does not issue refunds directly. Contact your school's billing office to request one, or reach out to Family Support, and we'll connect you with the right person.
12. Can I switch payment methods after starting a plan?
Yes. However, changes may affect applicable fees; for example, switching to a credit card may incur a processing fee.
13. Is there a penalty for paying off my plan early?
No. There are no early payoff penalties, and you may settle your balance in full at any time.
14. How do I avoid additional fees?
Ensure your account has sufficient funds before ACH payments. Stick to your payment plan schedule.
15. Will I receive a billing statement or receipt?
Yes, you will receive a confirmation receipt after each payment. You can also see a full history of payments made by navigating to Payments, then History in your account.
16. Who do I contact for billing questions or disputes?
Please reach out to our Family Support team for all billing-related questions, including payment updates and fee clarifications.
17. How do I view my tuition payment schedule?
You can view your schedule of payments on your Dashboard homepage under Tuition Payment Schedule.
18. I would like to pay an additional amount towards our balance. How can I do that?
If you would like to pay an additional amount towards your balance, in your Dashboard, you will see the Tuition Payment Schedule. You can click on Pay Early and pay the invoices early either with your credit card or bank transfer.
