Click the Documents link to see all doc requests and view any uploaded docs
For an easier view of current year document requests, especially as we continue to progress over the years, you can click on the year in question to only pull up doc requests that were made in that specific year.
Under both Partner docs and Org docs, you may see requests for Parent A and Parent B. Parent A will be the first guardian listed on the application, and Parent B will be the second. In cases where the guardians are listed as “Married Filing Jointly”, it will only ask for a 1040 for Parent A, but will be for both guardians
Request status definitions:
Requested - Document requests have been sent, but nothing has been uploaded
Incomplete - Document has been uploaded, but is either missing information or is the incorrect document
Complete - Document has been uploaded and has either been verified or still needs to be reviewed
You can check either the application status or TVOs to confirm verification status of docs
The Document type column shows which document and which parent the request is for
If a document has an “incomplete” status, you can click on the link under Household to bring up to view more details about the request
If MVP is needing more information, they will send an email to the family, and the specific information in the request will be added to the Note section.
If a family calls in and references any document other than the previous year 1040 or W2, it is likely a request coming from the school.
Other than providing general information about a school doc request, there isn’t much information that we can provide. Refer them to the school for specific questions.
Families may call in and state that a document request they received doesn’t apply to them or it isn’t a document they have (usually business tax forms or a 1040/W2). We are unable to remove or change any school document requests. They will need to speak with the school for further insight and assistance.
Note: Not every school will request documents, and not every school will request the same documents. Families will want to speak with the school if they want to know why a specific document is/isn’t being requested
In some instances, the school may be requesting a family to fill out a specific document and sending it back. The family can go to the Documents tab from their Dashboard to see if the school attached the form to the request. If they click ‘Download Form’ next to the document request, it will download a PDF version of the form. They can then either use a PDF-writer or print it out then upload an image/scan of the filled out form.
